You hide behind curtains because the world sneers at you, whenever you take the stage. Strangers and even those closest to you are cold and cruel, hellbent on treating you as if you're nothing. A waste of life. Simply because of who you choose to love.
The truth is: you're far more beautiful than every star in the sky. You're worth more than every jewel put together. Your light is precious, valuable, and when you share it with your significant other, the two of you complete that beautiful, heavenly light.
You are more than wonderful. You deserve to be seen and heard.
You are human. You aren't worthless and unholy.
Love is love, whether it is between a man and a woman, two women or two men. For same-sex couples, the art of lovemaking is different, but it is nonetheless beautiful. Whether you are a man, making sweet love to your boyfriend, or a girl confessing love to her girlfriend through kisses, love is love.
It is cruel, how so many stone you as if you're wicked viruses.
You deserve happiness.
To the angels that have gone home; your lives among us came to a premature end, and its heartbreaking, but you now have your wings. You're able to fly without worry. You can be the glittering star you were meant to be, the moment you were born.
Love is love. It is as pure as the snow, and warms you like sunlight. To those still with us: like all other humans, you deserve to love, and be loved. When you find your special someone, your heart sings. And all should be all right, but it isn't.
You aren't alone. You'll never be alone. I'm behind you, and so are many others.
Many use God and the Bible as a weapon against you, slaughtering His message of true, unconditional love. I believe in a God that loves ALL of His children. Not in a God that chooses to smite and condemn 'unworthy children' to eternal damnation. I believe in a God that accepts His children, whether they are gay, straight, bisexual, or sideways.
I believe in love.
May there be a world where you can live and love freely, without having to fear for your life. May there be a world without relentless cruelty against those that simply choose to love. May there someday be a world of acceptance, and justice.
Spirit Day is a small step towards that world, but it is a start.
You aren't alone. We're in this together.
